The Latch Turns 2!

It’s hard to believe it’s only been two years since we launched The Latch. It was February 2020, and we were blissfully unaware of the chaos that would unfold only weeks later. We launched a site with a mission to unpack the most important headlines of the day, and less than a month later, those headlines would be dominated, for two years, by a single evolving news story.  But this is not one of those stories.

Today, we celebrate The Latch’s achievements. The brand has found its place in the Australian media landscape, as a go-to resource for an older millennial audience. It speaks to an audience that demands more than just a catchy headline, and we work hard to ensure that every story delivers an explainer, a unique perspective, an interesting fact or hack, a new trend, or the most important news of the day.

We now reach over half a million Australians each month, and work with household name brands such as Microsoft, Binge, Apple, Flight Centre, Budget Direct, TikTok and CDU. We lean into our USP and not only amplify our campaigns across the VMO network, but also the stories that matter most.

Over the last two years, our editors have shared their knowledge, created communities, unpacked human experiences, and delivered some incredible results:
