Weekend Results: Momentum Builds In The Lead Up To The Easter Holidays

Last weekend marks cinema’s third biggest weekend of the year across the nation with a huge 873,000 cinemagoers hitting the big screen to catch some of the latest releases across the Thursday – Sunday period.

Alongside Marvel’s Mobius, highly anticipated family titles The Bad Guys and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 were also among the mix of films released last week, with Sonic the Hedgehog the largest contributor of the weekend, garnering 90% of the first film’s original opening weekend admissions.

Momentum is expected to continue as we head into the Easter holidays and beyond, with long awaited blockbuster films all releasing over the coming months : Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, The Lost City, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Top Gun: Maverick, Jurassic World: Dominion, Lightyear and Elvis.
