Val Morgan's Own Crew of Critics Share Their ‘Dune’ Reviews

The big screen adaptation of Frank Herbet’s bestselling novel Dune officially hit cinemas on Thursday, dominating the weekend box office and bringing in $4.8M. Our movie-obsessed team were among the first to catch the sci-fi epic in-cinemas.

Here’s what they had to say…

Dune is visually stunning and a reminder of why movies like this have to be seen in the cinema. Director Denis Villeneuve has created a masterful production with incredible cinematography and a scorching soundtrack. The excellent cast led by young prodigy Timothee Chalamet, Josh Brolin and Zendaya deliver a classic sci-fi story that is easy to follow and leaves everyone waiting for the sequel that will follow in the next year or so. See this one on the big screen!"

Can’t go wrong with Jason Momoa and Timothee Chalamet all in one movie really. Loved it, left me wanting more that’s for sure!

Astonishing visual sensibility ✔Stirring Hans Zimmer score ✔Terribly stylish costume design ✔ Timothee Chalamet being moody ✔

Seeing Dune in 2021 must be akin to how those first audiences felt when watching Star Wars A New Hope in 1977. Enough time has passed that cinema goers are again ready to get lost in a new multidimensional sci-fi world; complete with a troubled attractive young man at odds with morality, a plucky one-liner fighter who’ll go down with the ship, strong and mysterious female leads and a myriad of political societies who are mining natural resources in the guise of thinly veiled greed. Yes it was a tad long…but GIMME PART TWO.

As good as Lord of the Rings, but with bonus spaceships!

At once transportive and utterly evocative, Dune brought to life my memories of the books; delivering a fresh take on the epic space saga genre & leaving me avidly awaiting Part Two.
