U.S. moviegoer confidence reaches a post-pandemic peak, setting a positive precedent for film markets globally.

These are the global trends we love to see!

As cinemas continue to reopen in America's key film markets including Los Angeles and New York, consumer confidence in the environment continues to grow.

Since the pandemic forced cinema closures, leading US entertainment polling firm National Research Group has been conducting weekly surveys to understand moviegoers' comfort level to return to theaters.

For the first time since the pandemic hit, 57% of respondents indicated they would feel 'very' or 'somewhat' okay about purchasing a movie ticket. The result is aligned with confidence levels experienced at the same time last year, just a week before cinema closures were implemented.

68% of those surveyed also said they will next see a movie in cinemas within the next three months — a steady upward trajectory in the past four weeks.

The timely results are a positive beacon for Warner Bros Godzilla Vs. Kong, which releases in Australian cinemas on 25th March. Val Morgan forecasts are also positive, with the title anticipated to be one of 2021’s biggest blockbusters to date.
