At the global box office, Top Gun: Maverick has soared sky-high garnering a total of $557 million, putting the film in contention to be Tom Cruise’s highest-grossing film of all time.

Guy Burbidge, Managing Director of Val Morgan Cinema, commented on the film’s success since its release “As one of 2022’s most anticipated releases, it’s no surprise to see Aussie admissions smash 1.5 million in under 2 weeks. This film will unquestionably be one of the biggest moments in cinema this year and truly represents what the cinema experience is all about. With the film’s second-weekend admissions only seeing a 4% drop in comparison to its opening weekend result, Top Gun: Maverick audiences are set to break records.”

Upcoming blockbuster releases will continue to excite Aussie audiences. The epic conclusion of the Jurassic Park franchise, Jurassic World: Dominion hits cinemas today, the fourth film movie in the Thor saga, Thor: Love and Thunder releases in 3 weeks, and the follow up to the 2018 release, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever releases in November. The highly anticipated Avatar: The Way of Water is also set to blow box office and audience results out of the water when it hits the big screen on December 15.
