Daniel Craig’s Tenure as James Bond Has Been Immortalised on Hollywood’s Coveted Walk of Fame
Daniel Craig’s tenure as suave 007 agent James Bond was recognised with a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame last Wednesday, days ahead of the No Time To Die US release.
Craig has appeared in five Bond films, spanning 15 years of iconic cinema history. He is the 2,704th celebrity to be immortalised on the coveted Walk of Fame.
At the awarding of the star, Craig expressed his gratitude and honour to be recognised among Hollywood’s greats. "I never thought I'd say this, but it's an absolute honour to be walked all over in Hollywood," Craig joked in his speech.
“If happiness was measured by the company we keep, then me being on this pavement surrounded by all of these legends makes me a very, very, very happy man. So, thank you very much,” he said.
The terrazzo star was aptly placed outside 7007 Hollywood Boulevard, in honour of the fictional spy’s code number. Its placement is made all the more special as it is set alongside the star of his predecessor as Bond, Sir Roger Moore. Moore portrayed Bond in seven films, spanning the 70’s and 80’s.
No Time To Die has since released in the US, collecting more critical praise and accounting for 25% or all ticket sales over the weekend. The film opened to $56 million USD and has gross $313 million to date globally.
Contributing to its early success, the U.K. has so far achieved $71 million USD at the box office, making No Time To Die Universal’s 4th biggest film of all time in just ten days in theatres.
While the film opened to a limited market in New Zealand its opening weekend result was on par with Spectre (2015) and saw weekend admissions triple week-on-week.
No Time To Die will reach Australian cinemas on November 11.
