Captain Marvel's return promises double the Marvel-ous action.

The Marvels, previously known as Captain Marvel 2, will bring some of the most powerful female superheroes in the Marvel universe together this November, as part of Phase 5 of the MCU.

Brie Larson will return to the role of Carol Danvers, better known as Captain Marvel. Alongside Iman Vellani who will be returning to her role as Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, a young mutant from Jersey City who idolises Carol. Teyonah Parris will also be reprising her role in the film as Monica Rambeau, the daughter of Maria Rambeau, a friend and fellow US Air Force pilot who served with Danvers. The Marvels is expected to go beyond what was established in WandaVision (2021) to explore Rambeau's character further.

When comparing The Marvels to The Avengers (2012) Marvel boss Kevin Feige told Entertainment Weekly, "There's something immensely powerful about seeing Monica and Kamala and Carol together in a frame. It's chill-inducing. They're so great together, and they all have different histories with each other."

The plot of the movie will reveal the connection between the three and bring them together to figure out the mystery. What we do know is that the plot is set off by an item introduced in Ms. Marvel, specifically, a second bangle like the one that activated Kamala's powers. This bangle is used by the film’s villain Dar-Benn, a Kree imperialist who has it out for Carol, played by Marvel newcomer Zawe Ashton.

Starring alongside Larson, Vellani and Parris, the actors that will be returning to the MCU include Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Saagar Shaikh (Aamir Khan), Zenobia Shroff (Muneeba Khan), and Mohan Kapoor (Yusuf Khan). Also joining the cast is Park Seo-joon (The Divine Fury) in an undisclosed role. The rest of the main cast remains a mystery.
