Cinema’s bounce back was quick and strong.
Aussies proved their undying love for cinema, returning in droves to see blockbusters on the big screen once again, with an incredible two of the top five films of all time released in the last 12 months.
Cinema is more youthful than ever.
52% of all cinema admissions in 2022 were in the hard-to-reach
P14-39 demographic, an increase from only 47% in 2021, highlighting how cinema is skewing younger than ever.
Superhero films continue to be the big draw cards for Aussies, with 3 of the top 5 films of the year coming from Marvel or DC, and many other titles like Black Adam also performing strongly.
